during the day B14C

If you are on a very tight budget, it is best to trade brand for performance. And this lesser known brand offers the best performance we could find for such a low price.

And it has generally solid specs, although it doesn’t do well in the processor category. But everything else is excellent!

The processor is a slower Intel N5095 processor, but to compensate, it is paired with 12GB of RAM. It also offers a 256GB SSD drive, which is also ultra-fast. So it takes a few seconds to load, and it’s usually fast despite the slow processor.

There’s more information – the benefits of switching to lesser known brands! They are not vital, but still useful: It offers a backlit keyboard, a USB Type-C port (as well as a regular USB 3 port), and a good screen-to-body ratio.

But no HDMI! Keep that in mind if you were planning on connecting it to a large screen (and a USB-C to HDMI adapter is out of the question).

What’s really nice is the resolution of the laptop: It offers Full HD resolution (1920×1080 pixels) for its price and overall very high image quality. This is complemented by a good battery that will last about 6 hours on a charge with regular use.

It is very thin (0.6 inches thick) and extremely light (less than one pound), making it extremely portable. But all these little laptops are easy to carry around!

While it’s not the best laptop you can get, don’t forget that you’re paying a fraction of the price of a regular laptop. It’s not perfect and far from the best, but for this price you really can’t find a better one.

Message: If you don’t like the pink color we chose for the presentation, it is also available in a more traditional silver color.

ASUS Vivobook 14

Now we move on to more established brands, with a product that has similar features but some additional benefits – most importantly, it is manufactured by a reliable and reputable brand.

A reminder: So far, I think all the recommended models are excellent choices, getting better as the prices go up. So always remember to buy a device that is as close to your maximum budget as possible.

Let’s get back to the VivoBook 14: It is powered by a quad-core AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor (up to 3.7 GHz) and comes with 8 GB of RAM. This combo is really solid, and the performance will be pretty impressive for the money you spend on it!

The fan makes noise when it tries to cool the unit. So be aware that you won’t be getting the quietest laptop ever. But for the price, it’s really good!

To top it off, the Asus VivoBook 14 also comes with a 256GB SSD, which is super fast and has incredible read/write speeds of around 500MB/s!

Yes, 256GB is definitely on the low side and definitely not a lot of storage, but you can still get by with it if you’re on a budget. You can also consider free cloud storage by purchasing an external hard drive or microSD card.

It is very light and thin, making it extremely portable. Although it’s slightly heavier than the previous model, it still gets our award for portability, because at 3.1 pounds, it certainly won’t break your neck. And you can expect ASUS quality!

It offers a few extras, like a backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader for added security, and a very nice and stylish design.

The picture quality of this 14-inch model is also very good (you get Full HD resolution) and, as an advantage over the previous model, it also has an HDMI connection for additional options. It also has a USB-C port and three regular USB ports, as well as a microSD card reader.

Overall a good product whose biggest drawback is the small storage capacity.

Lenovo Flex 5

If you’re looking for extra bells and whistles, but also high performance, the Lenovo Flex is a great choice.

One of its key features is that it has a digital pen (and touch screen) that allows you to easily take notes, draw, write and mark important points on the screen. Therefore, we think it is a good choice for students or for work (depending on your specialty).

Another important thing about the Lenovo Flex 5 is that it is a 2-in-1 product. In other words: You can turn it into a tablet just by flipping the screen. You can also use it in tent position to get some more height. The choice is yours.

Even if you don’t plan on using it as a tablet (which would be a bit awkward, to be honest), the Lenovo Flex is a great 14″ laptop. It’s powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor and 16GB of RAM, delivering very fast performance even when multitasking with multiple browser tabs or open applications.

The biggest drawback is that the storage space is still limited to just 256GB. But at least we’re talking about a super-fast SSD, and that makes us feel better.

The touch screen supports Full HD resolution and generally offers very good image quality. You get plenty of ports, including USB Type-C, and they’re spread across both sides of the laptop to provide more functionality.

The battery is also good – you can count on about 5 hours on a single charge, which is really good for our budget. As a bonus, the battery charges to 80% in an hour, which is pretty fast.

Overall, we really liked this 14″ laptop from Lenovo. It offers a lot of good stuff at a decent price. It’s definitely worth seeing (at least!).

HP Pavilion x360

Because of their smaller size, many 14″ laptops come in 2-in-1 versions (meaning they have a 360-degree hinge that allows you to flip them over and use them as a tablet). For this, the HP Pavilion x360 is a good choice, with a great touchscreen.

It also has really solid specs and offers impressive overall performance thanks to the 10th generation Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor. Generation, operating at up to 3.6 GHz in turbo mode. However, it is only equipped with 8GB of RAM. It’s not great, but with 16 GB, it would be the perfect choice.

At least it offers more storage space than our previous models: You get a 512GB SSD that’s not only super fast, but also ready to store more files, including videos, photos, and music. So at least we’re covered here!

His display will impress you. We’re talking micro edges with the thinnest edges you’ve ever seen! You get a fully functioning edge-to-edge glass touchscreen and Full HD resolution for perfect picture quality. And this aspect – the quality of the screen – is one of its main advantages, if not the most important.

It has plenty of ports, including USB Type-C and HDMI, and a large SD card reader.

It’s also thin (.71 inches) and light (3.3 pounds), and has a good battery – one that can run up to 10 hours on a single charge (though a more realistic wait would be about 5 hours). But still very good!

Dell Inspiron – Editor’s Choice

When it comes to cheap laptops, the most expensive products are almost always the best. That’s why the most expensive product on our list wins the Editor’s Choice award: It’s just really good, even if it is close to the upper limit of the budget.

It offers the best specs on our list, similar to what you’d expect from a high-end, full-size laptop.

It’s an impressive 11th generation Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor. generation (up to 4.2 GHz) and 32 GB of RAM. To top it off, you also get a super-fast 1TB SSD drive that provides ample storage for all your files.

It’s also good enough for the Editor’s Choice Award. Excellent performance for a small budget, allowing you to easily multitask or work seamlessly with multiple tabs (or applications, or both) open.

It’s also a 2-in-1 mount, meaning you can flip it over and use it as a tablet. But not everything can be perfect – and in this case, the biggest shortcoming of our model is its resolution: It only gets HD (1366 x 768). It’s a real disappointment – although to be fair, the picture quality isn’t bad at all. On a small 14-inch screen, the untrained eye won’t notice much difference.

The speakers are particularly good for this model, and while they don’t come close to the quality of the dedicated system, they still offer surprisingly good sound quality.

Overall, it’s the fastest laptop on our list – and the one with the most storage. It’s nice and good, but not perfect because of the low resolution. It’s up to you to decide if there are enough reasons to avoid it or not (we definitely say it’s okay!).
